Nucleic acid isolation is an essential step in molecular biology and is the starting point of most downstream experiments. As these molecules are fragile, it is important to ensure efficient grinding while preserving biological compounds.

Precellys homogenizers have been used for DNA and RNA extraction and sample preparation all over the world for many years. One of our most notorious homogenizers is Precellys Evolution. Thanks to the 3D bead-beating technology, it guarantees efficient grinding, homogenization, or lysis of any biological sample. Our latest addition to the Precellys family, the Precellys Evolution Touch, is also using this technology, while providing better performance and results than its older counterpart.

In this application note, we compare the homogenization efficiency of the Precellys Evolution and the new Precellys Evolution Touch through DNA and RNA extractions from two different samples using the Precellys lysing kits.
