Context
Optical feeder links are increasingly drawing the attention of satellite operators as potential game changers in Very High Throughput Satellites (VHTS) system solutions. The high throughput is achieved with wavelength and polarization multiplexing, as well as high-power beams for trans-atmospheric transmission. However, this high throughput comes with a price, as stray-light management becomes more challenging on-board the focal plane assembly handling beams alignment.
