Introduction
Of the three pillars of health physics, dose optimisation, or ALARA principle, is at the core of Certified Health Physicists’ preoccupations (CHP). Operational dosimetry is one of the tools enabling dose monitoring on operations risking external exposure.
For many years, Bertin has been providing operational dosimeters to EDF for employees and external workers in controlled areas.
The Surveillance Post for Risk Prevention (SPRP) is an internal system which was created by EDF in compliance with the ALARA principle, in order to centralize all data related to health physics and people safety. Following the implementation of this system, it was mandatory to adapt Bertin’s dosimeters so that they would transmit data immediately to the SRPR.
