Bertin offers equipment based on LIBS technology (Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy) either for a laboratory application with the Quantom-LAB or for online sorting activities with the Quantom. These systems can be used for waste recycling and sorting of WEEE (Waste Electrical Electronic Equipment) and ELV (End of Life Vehicle) waste through the identification of the resins for dark polymers (PE/PP, PA, PPT, PC-ABS-PC, ABS, HIPS, ABS/PMMA, HIPS/PPE). It can also simultaneously detect flame retardants such as Bromine, Chlorine, and Phosphorous. The Quantom equipment can be used for sorting of glasses, metals, aluminum grades or refractory materials.
