Bertin Winlight supplies high-performance optical components, subsystems and test or calibration benches for space applications.

To support the most ambitious space programs, Bertin Winlight has been designing and manufacturing optical components, systems and subsystems since 2001 for major players and integrators in the sector.

With internationally recognized expertise, Bertin Winlight develops test and calibration benches, optical systems integrated into satellites, and optical components and sub-systems, along with their associated systems.

To meet the rigorous demands of the space sector, Bertin Winlight is committed to offering components of exceptional reliability and maximum performance, despite the harsh operating conditions. Its optical components, for example, are tested in thermal chambers and on a vibrating pot to meet the operational constraints of space applications, whether in aluminum, silica, CaF2, ZnSE or SiC.

Bertin Winlight is also involved in numerous international projects, including NASA’s Mars missions. As part of the ChemCam and SuperCam projects, Bertin Winlight has produced aspherical mirrors for the Curiosity and Perseverance rovers currently on mission to Mars.

Bertin Winlight has also supplied components and sub-systems for the James-Webb Telescope, as well as for observation satellites such as GAIA, EUCLID, IASI-NG and EnMAP, among others. In addition, Bertin Winlight provides ground support equipment for the alignment, verification and qualification of high-performance optical and photonic systems. In particular, it has supplied the OGSE that tested and calibrated the instruments on board the Meteosat 3rd generation’s imaging and infrared sounder satellites, the CO2I spectrometer for the CO2M mission, the interferometer for the IASI-NG instrument in the MetOp-SG program, etc.
