Context
In line with German regulations, nuclear energy companies, fuel cycle operators, and major nuclear research institutes must take measures to stabilize facilities after an accident. Kerntechnische Hilfsdienst GmbH (KHG), based in Eggenstein-Leopoldshafen, manages an emergency response equipment pool. KHG is responsible for setting up and managing emergency services on behalf of operators in the event of a nuclear accident, ensuring the reduction and elimination of hazards.
To ensure comprehensive monitoring and a swift response, KHG uses a specially equipped truck that can be deployed to various sites. This mobile unit is crucial for maintaining gamma surveillance, providing flexibility and quick action in emergencies. This system, installed in 2000, was updated in 2006 and again this year by Bertin Technologies to ensure continuous and effective monitoring.
