Context
New regulations on Radon are more and more implemented wordwide, such as Council Directive 2013/59/EURATOM of December 5, 2013 which introduced national legislations in Europe. Therefore, national actions are progressing significantly, as well as the need for Radon mitigation.
In order to successfully plan, monitor and control mitigation actions, reliable measurements have to be performed with highly sensitive instruments, such as Bertin’s benchmark instrument for professional Radon monitoring AlphaGUARD. In this purpose, the Finnish Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority (STUK) grants approvals for institutions that are applying suitable measurement methods and using equipment which are fulfilling the highest requirements in terms of stability, robustness, ergonomics, and fast response time.
