Context

Obtaining single primary cells from lung tissue has long been recognized as a critical technique for advancing our understanding of physiological and pathological processes. The lung, playing a pivotal role in respiratory function and immune response, requires detailed cellular analysis to unravel its intricate functions and disease mechanisms. This approach holds significant promise for future research applications, including cell biology studies, disease modeling, and drug discovery tailored to respiratory conditions. However, despite substantial interest and potential, the challenge of obtaining viable single cells from lung tissue persists. In this context, the Precellys Multi Tissue Dissociation kit by Bertin Technologies emerges as a valuable tool, offering an efficient method for dissociating tissues into single cells.

In this application note, we present the results obtained with the Precellys Multi Tissue Dissociation kit in combination with Precellys Evolution Touch (or Precellys Evolution) for the dissociation of mice lung tissues into single cells.

For this study, we used tissue samples from mice housed under standard animal facility conditions, without any specific treatment (UAR BioMedTech Facilities).
