Context
A great number of business lines apply ionizing radiations, whether it be the industry (traditional or nuclear), research, agriculture, or medical sector. In the medical field, radioactive substances are daily used for diagnostic, therapeutic, curative or palliative purposes The University Hospital Center of Strasbourg, France, has a specialized unit for the use of radioactive sources, as well as a nuclear medicine department. Both patients and health care professionals (medical physicist, radiotherapist, etc.) are thus exposed to the risk of internal (by inhalation and ingestion) or external contamination (by skin contact with contaminated objects). To provide radiation protection for both patients and workers, it is therefore necessary to implement protective and preventive measures to limit such a risk. Inspection and radiological monitoring operations must be conducted inside the infrastructures exposed to ionizing radiations.
